Join our Learn 2 Row course, where you will be guided by our club coaches and volunteers over the course of 6 weeks. You will learn British Rowing technique in sculling (two oars) to the point where you will then be able to join our development squad, 

The course is open to anyone 18+ with no upper age limit, Rowing is a low impact sport and only requires beginners to have reasonable flexibility,

We row on the River Lune, a venue which is the envy of many other clubs, we have around 3km of water and no motorised traffic other than our coaching launches and those of the other 3 rowing clubs on the river. The river is in a healthy state, supporting good migratory fish stocks, and birdlife including Kingfishers, Herons and our resident Swans and quite recently a family of Otters,  

The course will begin on Saturday 18th April at 10.00 for 2 hours, It will run for 6 Saturdays in total, ending on Saturday 25th May,. You will need to attend all 6 sessions to be able to complete the course, with some leeway for unforeseeable circumstances 

Sessions will be coached using a combination of rowing machines (ergos) and boats, (stable four person quads with a cox steering). Sessions will go ahead regardless of weather conditions, although we may adjust the program if the weather is too inclement by taking some sessions wholly indoors.  

The course cost of £99 covers all coaching, use of equipment, club facilities and refreshments, as well as 12 months British Rowing membership, Once the course is completed, you will be invited to join our development squad which rows at the same time on Saturday, as well as evenings in the week, You will continue to be coached, and also learn sweep (one oar) rowing, and eventually, you will be passed out into the general or advanced men and women's squads.
